Applegrove was a great “getaway” for us. We so enjoyed birding in the early morning.

29/4/04
What a superb few day we’ve had here – bird watching and hiking by day, with warm fires, fine food and snug beds by night. Applegrove really fits the bill.
Janene and Michael Suttie

A la Alexei Sayle, “It was nice!” But seriously – it was perfect for our needs.
Thanks, Sharon, Stuart, Margaret, John, Marien and Bria.

18/7/04
A great place to meet with good friends, food and wine! We loved the fire in sub zero conditions. The country really was a great experience and the farm house topped it off. The warmest and most coziest sleep I have ever had considering the temp – thanks for the beautiful doona’s.

The middle of winter – it snowed on us while walking towards Mt. Norman – apparently the first time wince 1984! Even so, the house was marvelously warm – fantastic fire with plenty of wood. The boys had great fun and we enjoyed all the space.

26/6/05
With the green tree frog looking over us and the moon shinging overhead, the fire crackling inside, the warm homestead, the cool mountain air surrounds us with a sense of calm and solitude, we came up here to celebrate the wedding of a friend in a truly beautiful Christian service in Stanthorpe, a lovely community celevration followed in town, the whole region emits the same warm and friendliness as the fire place did at Applegrove.

14/8/05
Thank you for a lovely three nights. The house was so lovely and warm. We hardly needed to light the fire! Everyone we met along our seightseeing adventure was so friendly – we enjoyed every moment!

Perfect spot for our family.

3/10/05
Lovely! Giggle juice and good times were had by all. We definitely be back again!

1/05/06
The farmhouse is very comfortable and ideal for a group of friends to enjoy a relaxing weekend away from the city. We’d like to visit again when we have more time to spend enjoying the peace and quiet and spotting the more unusual finds that live in this area. (We spend most of Sunday at Opera in the Vineyard. Unfortunately, it rained so the concert had to be held indoors. It was disappointing to to see the sun setting behind the hills at the winery by we still had a great time).

Hey, it’s our first day in this Farmhouse and my mum has already driven us mad talking about how nice this house is. But she is right! I have already had one experience with about five kangaroos at sunset starting at me like I was an alien!
Lauren

2/9/07
We stayed here to attend a family wedding at Ballandean Winery. Having this lovely roomy Farmhouse to spread out in was perfect – a refuge from the “madding crowd”. The kids cooked dinner on the wood stove and the fire kept us all snug. Lovely, thankyou.

Waking up to the call of the birds was a treat after our long lunch at Sirromet yesterday. Organizing for the bunny to hop past the window was a nice touch too! Beautiful gardens – love the rambling style and roses. It was great to sit around the fire and relax into the night. Beds were very comfy and plety of warm covers too. We had a great tiem during our stay here. Who would have thought we would experience rain, heat, dust storms, winds and frosts in only a few days. We even got to use the fireplace! A fabulous place to have to base ourselves for a wonderful break. Great food shared, outstanding sunsets on the verandah while enjoying local wines and cheeses and plenty of room for the kids to explore. We hope to come back another time and explore more the Granite Belt.

Dear Karen and Peter
Thank you so much for letting gus stay here. We really enjoyed the bonfire as well as the inside fire. The trip to Giraween Nation park was fantastic. We did a few bush walks and climbed up this huge mountain. It was scary but worth the climb. We found some games in the cupboard and spent the afternoon playing them. We spent the nights melting marshmallows on the fire.

9/7/12
Loved the country-style house. nice touches like the heater in the bath, electric blankets, well equipped kitchen. Was great to be able to sit outside on the chairs and watch the sunset whilst we toasted marshmallows. Unearthed the inner firebug again. Tasted some lovely wines and more importantly met some lovely local people... Paradies Wines, Bungawarra, Robert Channon. Cheese Shop not only great cheese but great Chutneys and Pickles. Can't go past cellar door cafe literally down the road at Mason's. Couldn't fault any of it. Can see myself having a tree change - kids loved roaming outside. Thanks for letting us stay.
